When I arrived in Abu Dhabi in 2023, I had just left behind a 20 year career in the Canadian public service. I had managed countless programs and projects for Canadians over the course of my career, and I felt like it was time to focus on myself for a change. I knew I wanted to continue being of service, and I knew that I put my public service savviness to good use by helping other women like me find their footing and put their hard earned skills and experience into action by running their own businesses.

Ten women • one circle • zero laptops. We gat Ten women • one circle • zero laptops. We gathered in my living room, tea or coffee in hand, and swapped “co-working” for soul-feeding with lots of chuckles, lots of real talk, lots of self-deprecation (mostly from me!) and, most importantly, lots of lifting each other up. With each question we peeled back another layer of skill and sheer gumption. By the final story we’d moved from mostly being strangers to a becoming a little brigade of light-bulb moments. But there is good news. The more you push through the knee jerk reaction to lower the worth of your services, the less you’ll be affected by it. As a result, our April 30 Co-Working + Business Clinic is moving to… my living-room boardroom (a.k.a. Post Script HQ). What’s changing • Venue: my place (yes, there’s Wi-Fi; no, camels don’t live here) • Perks: unlimited coffee & tea on the house, equally unlimited encouragement • Cost: still free, just bring your laptop and that ideas you’re working on What’s NOT changing • Tiny group (approx. 10 humans, 0 camels) • No-pressure business advice and encouragement • Terrible parking.
